Magical Movie Moments III will be happening from 6 to 8 October 2023
The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) continues its family-friendly offering with an all-time favourite, Magical Movie Moments III by The KLPAC Orchestra from 6 to 8 October 2023 at Pentas 1. It has been a long wait so do not miss this chance to relive these magical cinematic moments once more.
Music Unlike Any Other
Film music can make or break a film and the ones that hit the mark will stick with you long after the credit roll ends like the mania Frozen unleashed worldwide. Its third outing under the baton of Maestro Lee Kok Leong, The KLPAC Orchestra’s Music Director and Resident Conductor, brings together the biggest names in film music and the well-known tunes from mega blockbusters and animaed movies.
One of the highlights of the programme is “From Musicals to Movies” featuring music from Andrew Llyod Webber’s musical-historical film Evita as well as the Concert Suite from The Polar Express by Alvin Silvestri and Glen Ballard.
Award Winning Music
Silvestri has long been associated with Robert Zemeckis’ films and has done much of the music for Forrest Gump and the Back to the Future film series. The concert also features “Songs from the Magical World” which is a lovely tribute to Disney Legend Alan Menken who has bagged eight Academy Awards and eleven Grammy Awards.
Also, not known to many, Menken is also the genius behind many well-known Disney tunes like those featured in The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Mulan and Aladdin. Selections from these films, arranged by Ant Chua Su Ting, will be performed in the upcoming concert.
Music From Musicals
Another exciting segment is “The Greatest Showman” featuring music by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul such as Rewrite The Stars, A Million Dreams, Never Enough and This is Me, arranged by See To Jun Wen.
