Honda Malaysia has officially revived one of its most iconic nameplates with the launch of the all-new Prelude at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026.
Priced at RM278,000, the sixth-generation Prelude marks a new chapter for the Japanese automaker, blending sporty performance, hybrid efficiency and everyday practicality under Honda’s “Unlimited Glide” development concept.
The new Prelude is powered by Honda’s 2.0-litre e hybrid powertrain, producing 184PS and 315Nm of torque. Designed as a modern grand tourer, the coupe aims to deliver responsive performance while maintaining the comfort and refinement expected of a daily driver.
Refined For A New Era

A key highlight is the introduction of S+ Shift Technology, making its Malaysian debut in the Prelude. The system manages engine RPM during acceleration and deceleration to create a more direct driving feel, complemented by Active Sound Control and dynamic visual displays that enhance driver engagement.
“Hybrid technology continues to be one of the most realistic and effective pathways toward environmental sustainability while delivering the performance, convenience and driving enjoyment that customers expect,” said Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Narushi Yazaki.
The Prelude offers three drive modes — Sport, GT and Comfort — allowing drivers to tailor the car’s character to different driving situations. An Individual Mode further enables customisation of settings such as steering, suspension, powertrain response and display configurations.
Honda has also introduced Coasting Control Operation for the first time in one of its vehicles. The feature allows smoother deceleration and reduces the need for frequent switching between the accelerator and brake pedals, particularly during everyday driving.
Sporty Design
Drawing inspiration from the smooth movement of a glider, the Prelude features a sleek fastback silhouette, black chrome grille, flush door handles and distinctive blue accents integrated into the front and rear bumpers. Completing its sporty appearance are 19-inch alloy wheels paired with blue Brembo brake calipers.
Inside, the cabin adopts Honda’s “Gliding Cockpit” design philosophy, creating a driver-focused environment while maintaining comfort for passengers. Technology highlights include a 9-inch Advanced Display Audio system with Google Built-in, providing access to Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play, alongside a Bose premium audio system.
Practicality remains a priority despite the coupe’s sporty design, with luggage space capable of accommodating two medium-sized suitcases.
Safety is supported by the latest Honda SENSING suite of advanced driver assistance systems, reinforcing the Prelude’s positioning as both a performance-oriented and everyday-friendly model.
The all-new Prelude is available in Winter Frost Pearl, Rallye Red and Crystal Black Pearl. Visitors to KLIMS 2026 can also explore Honda’s wider electrified lineup, including the updated HR-V equipped with a 360-degree camera system.
