The “Oasi Zegna in the world” project starts from Milan
Zegna, in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, has completed a three-year project to deliver green spaces inspired by the environmental philosophy of Oasi Zegna to Piazza Duomo. Oasi Zegna, spanning 100 km2 in the Biella Alps, was established by Ermenegildo Zegna for reforestation and community development.
A Good Cause
This initiative, with over 500,000 trees, embodies social and environmental responsibility. The flowerbeds in Piazza Duomo draw inspiration from Dino Buzzati’s painting, fostering a connection between citizens and nature. Botanists and landscapers have curated the vegetation, incorporating elements from Oasi Zegna while respecting Milan’s ecosystem and sprucing up the everyday style for you.
The flowerbeds feature Canfore shrubs, evergreen plants, and rotating species like rhododendrons and Philadelphus, promoting biodiversity and seasonality. Visitors can scan QR codes to experience Oasi Zegna virtually, enhancing their connection with nature and also repairing the environment we have so carelessly damaged all these years.
A Beautiful Start
Gildo Zegna, Chairman and CEO of Ermenegildo Zegna Group, emphasises the project’s alignment with the brand’s values of environmental stewardship and social responsibility. The initiative marks the beginning of a global expansion, creating Oasi Zegna locations worldwide. This is only the beginning, so do expect to see more initiatives like this.
Shared Responsibility
Milan’s Mayor, Giuseppe Sala, welcomed the Oasi Zegna project, appreciating its contribution to the city’s green spaces and international environmental efforts. He highlights Zegna’s commitment to sustainability and biodiversity, enriching Milan’s landscape and inviting visitors to reflect on these topics.
