UNIQLO and contemporary artist KAWS are returning with KAWS UNIVERSE, a new UT collection centred on the idea that “We are better together”. Available from 14 September 2026, the collection brings KAWS’ familiar COMPANION together with a new cast of characters inspired by universal symbols of the Earth, Moon and Sun.

The new characters reflect themes of hope, warmth and human connection, extending the visual language KAWS has developed throughout his work. Alongside COMPANION, they appear across a selection of clothing designed to explore the idea of people connecting across borders, cultures and generations.

New characters and first-time charms

The collection includes T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring playful graphics of COMPANION and the new characters, alongside more understated details incorporating KAWS’ distinctive “XX” motif through embroidery and other detailing.

The range is available in both adult and children’s sizes, allowing the designs to be worn across generations. For the first time in a KAWS collaboration with UNIQLO, the collection also introduces plush charms, extending the KAWS UNIVERSE beyond clothing and into small, collectible accessories.

KAWS said the new characters were inspired by symbols shared by people around the world, describing the collection as a celebration of the things that bring people together.

KAWS UNIVERSE will be available from 14 September 2026 through UNIQLO, with the collection bringing together the artist’s established COMPANION character and his latest creations in a range designed around connection and shared experiences.
