Kuala Lumpur’s vibrant art scene recently welcomed the “Voices Through Colours” exhibition at Manja KL, a heartfelt showcase spotlighting young neurodivergent artists. Organised by HUGEart, the event provided a much-needed platform for artists with diverse neurodivergent profiles, including autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, to express their creativity and share their unique perspectives with the public.
The exhibition, which ran for one day, featured 48 striking pieces of artwork by 24 artists aged 7 to 21. Each piece told a personal story, with bold colours, intricate patterns, and imaginative forms bringing to life the experiences and worlds of these young creatives. In addition to the artwork, guests had the opportunity to purchase art cards and magnets featuring some of the standout pieces.
An Inclusive Showcase

HUGEart’s founder, Malar Sinnadurai, has long championed the power of art to empower and educate. “Through art, we can help children see their potential and share their voices with the world,” she said.
This mission was brought to life as the first floor of Manja restaurant was transformed into a vibrant gallery space, welcoming guests from all walks of life. The exhibition also featured works by young artists from The Children’s Art Studio and the START Art Programme, both collaborators in the event.
The launch of the exhibition was met with an overwhelming response. Guests included notable figures such as Dr Hemavathy Palanyiaya, Consultant Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician at Evelina London Children’s Hospital, and multidisciplinary artist Tiffany Choong. A live performance by singer and songwriter Chelsia Ng added to the celebratory atmosphere.

Sales were brisk, with more than a quarter of the works sold within hours of the opening, reflecting the public’s admiration for the talent, resilience, and creativity of the artists. The remaining pieces will be compiled into a catalogue available for purchase, ensuring the artists’ voices continue to be heard.
A key highlight of the day was the attendance of Ismail Ani Arope, Regional Head of Group Corporate Events at CIMB Group, who announced that HUGEart would be taking part in the prestigious CIMB Artober at MITEC in September 2025.
