ACM CHAGEE

Tea takes centre stage at the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) with Garden of Senses: A Tea Reverie, a new multi-sensory showcase running from 28 January to 7 June 2026. Presented in collaboration with international tea brand CHAGEE and the Singapore Tourism Board, the experience at ACM reimagines tea not simply as a beverage, but as a deeply human practice shaped by history, creativity and everyday life.

Designed as a journey through sight, sound, touch and reflection, the showcase invites visitors to slow down and reconnect with tea as a shared ritual across cultures and time. Historic collections sit alongside contemporary interpretations, highlighting how tea traditions continue to evolve while remaining rooted in human connection.

Brewing Art

This marks ACM’s first collaboration with a global lifestyle brand, blending museum expertise with modern cultural storytelling. The exhibition also features new commissions by Singapore-based artists Ashley Yeo and Alecia Neo, whose works explore stillness, sound and participation. From floating paper forms inspired by tea leaves to immersive soundscapes influenced by ASMR, the installations encourage contemplation and presence.

Throughout the galleries, visitors will encounter sculptural elements, fragrance-led moments and tactile displays of tea-making tools, alongside 3D-printed replicas of historic wares and contemporary tea cups. Communal spaces echo the social nature of tea — a practice long associated with conversation, care and pause.

Extending beyond the museum, a CHAGEE pop-up by the Singapore River complements the experience at ACM, further connecting heritage with modern tea culture.

Garden of Senses: A Tea Reverie is part of ACM’s All Access ticket, offering entry to all exhibitions on the day of visit.
