A good deed to support local artists
The Hari Hong Kong always strives to give its guests an enjoyable experience and one thing almost anyone can enjoy is art. Art has been at the heart of the brand since its inception and has been a core pillar of The Hari Hong Kong which curates a rotational showcase of exceptional artworks by London-based A Space for Art.
The Hari, in collaboration with A Space for Art, will bring this campaign to town to provide a stage for young artists to show off their art. This will be called “The Hari Art Prize” and is open to all emerging self-taught artists and art graduates within the last three years and submissions will open on 1 February 2023 until 31 March 2023.
Moreover, the artworks presented to The Hari can be from any genre and any medium, the only requirement is that it must be located in Hong Kong. An elite panel of judges including Dr. Aron Harilela, CEO and Chairman of Harilela Hotels, Heiman Ng, Director of Artistsverse and more will shortlist the winners.
The grand prize winner of The Art Prize will not only win the recognition, they will also be rewarded with a grant of HKD100,000 (RM58,000), donated by the ever generous Dr. Aron Harilela. Not to mention, the winner will also get the chance to exhibit their artwork at The Hari Hong Kong and The Hari London.
Additionally, the winner of The Hari Art Prize will also be offered the opportunity of an artist residency and to make a good deal even greater, all shortlisted artists will be able to have their artwork exhibited online on a special web page dedicated specifically for this campaign.
The award ceremony will be held in June 2023 at The Hari Hong Kong where the results of The Art Prize will be announced and it is sure to be an exciting event and quite possibly life changing for the winner of the campaign as well.
Dr. Aron Harilela also stated, “It is with great excitement that The Hari brand launches its first ever art prize to foster new artistic talent and I am delighted to be part of the judging panel. My family has always had a passion for art with many pieces from our private collection featured throughout The Hari hotels in Hong Kong and London. This is the first of a new cultural tradition for us.”
