Bell & Ross are taking inspiration from the ice with their new BR-05 Arctic Blue timepiece

The polar regions, with their breathtaking icy vistas, have long captivated explorers and adventurers alike. The raw beauty of ice, blending water and cold to reflect distinct bluish hues, has been a constant source of fascination. Bell & Ross, renowned for its precision and design, has previously explored this icy chromatic world with the BR-X5 Ice Blue.

Carved From Ice

At the heart of the BR-05 Skeleton Arctic Blue is its striking dial, a masterpiece in design and craftsmanship. The dial’s finish evokes the serene yet rugged allure of frozen landscapes, with a captivating effect that blurs the line between realism and abstraction. The idea was to create a design that feels hyper-realistic yet abstract, like a frozen lake seen from above.

Made from a blue-tinted glass plate, the dial is etched with irregular laser-engraved lines, mimicking the cracks found in ice sheets. The white etched lines add further dimension, resembling frost that marks the path of these natural cracks, creating a mesmerizing trompe-l’oeil effect.

Mechanical Beauty 

Beyond its striking color and texture, the BR-05 Skeleton Arctic Blue offers a window into the heart of its mechanics. The skeletonized design reveals the movement in all its glory. Through the crystalline dial, the automatic BR-CAL.322-1 movement comes to life.
