Bell & Ross, the independent Franco-Swiss watchmaker celebrated for its precision and aviation-inspired designs, has introduced a new 36mm version of its popular BR 05 watch—a move that responds to evolving tastes for more compact, elegant timepieces. The refined update is poised to resonate strongly with both style-conscious enthusiasts and female collectors.

Originally launched in 2019, the BR 05 line has become a staple in the brand’s lineup, embodying a bold urban-chic aesthetic with its iconic “round within a square” case design. While previous models ranged from 40mm to 42mm to accommodate complications like GMT and chronographs, the latest 36mm edition represents a distinct evolution—more compact, yet unmistakably BR 05.

Maintaining Its Identity

“Every millimetre counts,” says Bruno Belamich, Creative Director and Co-Founder of Bell & Ross. “To offer a smaller version of the BR 05, every element had to be reimagined, resized, and refined without losing the original’s identity.”

Despite its reduced size, the BR 05 36mm is built with the same architectural integrity as its larger counterparts. The case, a complex structure sealed with four signature screws, has been re-engineered for balance and wearability. With a thickness of just 8.5mm, the new model promises a sleeker fit for a wider variety of wrist sizes.

In line with the brand’s focus on functionality, legibility remains a priority. The new model features bold numerals, rhodium-plated skeletonised hands filled with white Super-LumiNova, and highly visible indexes. The sunray-finished lacquered dials are available in multiple colours—black, grey, ice blue, and mother-of-pearl—offering versatility and personality.

Quality Movement

Powering the BR 05 36mm is a mechanical self-winding movement with a 54-hour power reserve. This updated caliber contributes to the model’s slim profile while ensuring dependable timekeeping.

With this new release, Bell & Ross not only emphasises precision and comfort but also takes a deliberate step toward inclusivity. Designed as a gender-neutral timepiece, the BR 05 36mm reflects the brand’s commitment to serving a broader audience without compromising its core values of technical sophistication and modern elegance.
