Michelin and KTM will thrust motorsports into the spotlight in Southeast Asia
Michelin Malaysia and KTM Asia have joined forces in a dynamic new partnership set to redefine motorsports in Southeast Asia. This exciting collaboration will make its debut at the 2024 Rimba Raid, the world’s largest motorcycle adventure race, taking place from 25 to 29 September in the breathtaking Lenggong Valley, Malaysia.
A Powerful Partnership
This partnership merges Michelin’s cutting-edge tire technology with KTM’s high-performance motorcycles, highlighting a shared commitment to innovation and endurance. At this year’s Rimba Raid, the combined prowess of Michelin and KTM will be showcased through a team of five elite racers hailing from Singapore, Malaysia, and the Republic of Korea.
At the event, competitors will be riding KTM 890 ADVENTURE R motorcycles, equipped with Michelin Enduro Medium tires. These advanced tires, featuring specially designed tread blocks, promise exceptional grip and stability on even the most challenging terrains.
Staying True
True to KTM’s “READY TO RACE” philosophy, the motorcycles will remain nearly stock, with only select enhancements from KTM’s official POWERPARTS catalogue. Michelin and KTM Asia will provide dedicated technical support throughout the event to ensure peak performance and reliability.
Rimba Raid is renowned for its gruelling challenges, testing both riders and machines to their limits. Historically, less than half of the participants finish the race, underscoring its extreme difficulty. The 2023 event saw 279 competitors from 24 countries, including 21 pioneering female racers, emphasising the event’s global appeal and inclusivity.

It also serves as a showcase for motorcycle brands to present their latest innovations, with 19 manufacturers participating. With Michelin and KTM’s groundbreaking collaboration, the 2024 Rimba Raid promises to be an unforgettable display of performance and innovation in the world of motorsports, especially here in the region of Southeast Asia.
