The two brands give us Lake Tahoe freestyle skis and a watch

Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen is back with another former collaborative partner. This time its the Faction Collective, who together with IWC,  are working together in revisiting their successful luminescent ski design. Just like before, the brands are introducing  a pair of luminescent freestyle skis and a beautiful white watch.

When the two brands first collaborated, they gave us the Faction Studio 1 IWC skis. Now, the brands present the words “LAKE TAHOE” and “IWC” on a white topsheet glow in a greenish dark tone skis. There is also an option to purchase the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Top Gun Edition “Lake Tahoe” in white ceramic.

This collaboration brings together the precision and engineering of two celebrated Swiss companies with proven track records. Both brands hold a reputation for holding themselves to high standards in terms of sustainability and responsible production, ensuring the Lake Tahoe collection adheres to these same standards.

Nicholas Schmidt, Head of Brand Creation and Corporate Design at IWC Schaffhausen, said, “Graphic design with a clear and recognizable expression is an important tool for us at IWC to emphasize the engineering expertise and technicality of the brand. Therefore, designing a pair of skis with Faction was a great challenge. As an enthusiastic snowboarder and skier, I thoroughly enjoyed this project and am very proud of the result.”

Chief Brand Officer of Faction, Olivier Gouby, also stated, “In our collaborations, we always look for partners who can contribute new and surprising aspects and inspire our work. IWC Schaffhausen not only has a unique engineering approach and expertise in advanced material, but their design and visual expression also perfectly match what we do at Faction. I am thrilled to be introducing our first luminescent ski design.”

Furthermore, the Lake Tahoe skis in the current collaboration feature a tone-on-tone white top sheet and black base which perfectly matches the design of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Top Gun Edition “Lake Tahoe”. The timepiece features a crisp white ceramic case and pitch-black dial.

The chronograph also sees the words “Faction” and their logo printed in white on the black base with the white top sheet featuring the words “IWC” and a “Lake Tahoe” logo in luminescent paint. While the glow is barely visible during the day, it is very prominent in the dark for greater legibility.
