IWC Schaffhausen Unveils Light Blue Addition to Colours of TOP GUN Collection
Share
Swiss luxury watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen has expanded its acclaimed Colours of TOP GUN collection with the introduction of a new summery shade: TOP GUN Miramar. This light blue tone, developed in collaboration with Pantone®, is showcased in the newly launched Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar.
The standout model (Ref. IW389409) features a ceramic case, dial and rubber strap all presented in the vibrant new Miramar blue – a colour inspired by the t-shirts worn by elite TOP GUN instructors beneath their flight suits.
Limited to just 1,000 pieces, the chronograph is designed with blue hands coated in Super-LumiNova® for enhanced legibility in low-light conditions. It also includes a titanium case back engraved with the signature “TOP GUN” logo and a soft-iron inner case to protect the movement from magnetic fields.
The Range Expands
Simultaneously, IWC has introduced a stainless-steel version of the chronograph (Ref. IW388117), marking the first time the brand has used a Pantone® colour in a non-ceramic watch. This version pairs a 41mm stainless steel case with a matching Miramar blue dial and rubber strap, and features a sapphire case back offering a clear view of the mechanical movement.
Both models are powered by the IWC-manufactured 69000 calibre family – robust and precise automatic chronograph movements that include a 46-hour power reserve. The movements use a column-wheel design for accurate timekeeping and a tactile feel during operation. The dial layout has stopped minutes at 12 o’clock for intuitive readability, a signature of IWC’s chronograph design.
A further innovation shared by both timepieces is the EasX-CHANGE® system, allowing wearers to swap straps quickly and without tools by pressing an integrated button on the strap.
The Colours of TOP GUN collection continues to celebrate IWC’s ceramic expertise and aviation heritage, with previous editions featuring tones such as Mojave Desert, Lake Tahoe and Jet Black. With the Miramar edition, the collection gains a fresh, summer-ready aesthetic, reinforcing IWC’s commitment to bold design and technical excellence.
