Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Malaysia also built its 6 millionth motorcycle in Malaysia
Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) marks an exciting milestone this year, celebrating 45 years of innovation and dedication with the production of its 6 millionth motorcycle. To commemorate this achievement, the company unveils two exciting highlights, the Y16ZR 6MRO Limited Edition motorcycle and Space Y, Malaysia’s first-ever motorcycle museum.
Y16ZR 6MRO Limited Edition
This exclusive model, limited to only 3,000 units, celebrates the 6 millionth bike produced by Yamaha. It features a striking asymmetric colour scheme, with contrasting hues on each side, making it a bold, visually captivating ride. Each Y16ZR 6MRO is marked with a unique serial number and a commemorative “6MRO” emblem, adding to its collectible value.
Moreover, an exclusive merchandise package mirrors the bike’s unique design. The Y16ZR 6MRO Limited Edition will be available at Yamaha Authorized Dealers starting 1 December 2024, with a recommended retail price of RM13,668 (excluding registration and insurance).
Space Y Museum
In celebration of its 45th anniversary, Yamaha also unveils Space Y, a cutting-edge motorcycle museum located at Yamaha’s headquarters. The museum showcases the evolution of Yamaha motorcycles, highlighting the company’s legacy of innovation, design, and performance.
The new facility features interactive exhibits such as the Innovation Tunnel, where visitors can explore Yamaha’s precision manufacturing, and the Interactive and Art Space, which includes AR technology and a 4D MotoXperience. Visitors can also enjoy a historical and racing section, a theater, and the Space-Y Shop for exclusive Yamaha-branded apparel.
Record Breaking
Space Y is officially recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records as the first motorcycle museum in Malaysia. Admission is free until 31 December 2024, with opening hours from Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and alternate Saturdays, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Starting in January 2025, a nominal fee of RM5 for adults and RM3 for children will apply.
