Chery Malaysia Celebrates Malaysian Paralympians With Exclusive Vehicle Delivery

Chery promised and now it is delivering, literally to our Malaysian Paralympians
Chery Malaysia recently hosted a heartfelt event to honor the remarkable achievements of Malaysia’s Paralympians, celebrating their contributions to sports and Promoting inclusivity. The special occasion took place at Chery’s showroom in Glenmarie, Selangor, and also marked the delivery of the brand’s vehicles to several Paralympic athletes who had purchased them at an exclusive discount, underscoring Chery’s commitment to supporting these extraordinary athletes.
The event brought together Paralympians, their families, Ministry of Youth and Sports officials, the Paralympic Council of Malaysia, and Chery representatives for a day of recognition and celebration. Michael Chew, Vice President of Chery Malaysia, shared, “Our Paralympians exemplify the strength and resilience that inspire us all.”
Moreover, the event also featured the exclusive delivery of Chery vehicles to Prominent athletes such as Liek Hou and Ziyad, who chose the Omoda E5 and Omoda 5 as their preferred vehicles. This special initiative was part of Chery’s broader effort to support both Olympians and Paralympians.
Last year, Chery extended a generous discount to the athletes qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics, offering them an opportunity to experience Chery’s innovative technology and commitment to sustainable mobility. Gold medalists were eligible for a 50 percent discount on select Chery SUVs, including the Tiggo 8 Pro, Omoda 5 and Omoda E5.
On top of that, silver medallists and athletes who reached the semifinals or finals also received a 30 percent discount, while all athletes qualifying for the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics were offered a 15 percent discount. During the event, Chery delivered the Omoda 5 to Shot Put Silver Medallist Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli and the Omoda E5 to Badminton Gold Medallist Cheah Liek Hou.
Powerlifting champion and Gold Medallist Bonnie Bunyau Gustin, who broke the world record, had also purchased the Tiggo 8 Pro but was unable to attend the ceremony. This celebration of Malaysia’s athletes reflects Chery’s ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive society, where sports, mobility, and sustainability go hand in hand. 
Chery is dedicated to supporting local youth, encouraging them to pursue sports, and Promoting a healthy, active lifestyle. In 2024, Chery organized various sports events, including the Chery Eco Run in Putrajaya, a friendly badminton tournament, and the Borneo Marathon, alongside a corporate social responsibility initiative with Johor Southern Tigers (JDT) football club.
