Disney+ and ESPN will bring live NBA basketball to Malaysia from 22 October 2026, giving subscribers access to regular-season games, selected playoff match-ups and NBA Finals coverage as part of their existing subscription.

Available through ESPN on Disney+, the offering will feature 80 regular-season games during the 2026/27 season, alongside up to 24 games from the first round and Conference Semifinals. Subscribers will also be able to watch every game from one Conference Finals series each season, beginning with the Western Conference Finals in 2026/27.

All NBA Finals games will be available in five designated seasons: 2026/27, 2028/29, 2030/31, 2032/33 and 2034/35.

Additional coverage includes Christmas Day games, the NBA Draft, the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and selected NBA Summer League games.

ESPN will oversee production, providing English-language commentary and analysis throughout the season. Programming includes Inside the NBA, NBA Tip Off and Pardon the Interruption. The agreement also marks ESPN’s 25th consecutive season broadcasting NBA games.

NBA Coverage Expands on Disney+

The launch gives Malaysian basketball fans access to prominent players including LeBron James, entering his record-breaking 24th NBA season, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Luka Dončić of the Los Angeles Lakers, the reigning NBA scoring leader.

Kylie Watson-Wheeler, Head of ESPN, Asia Pacific, said the move builds on the region’s strong interest in basketball while expanding access to sports programming through Disney+.

The NBA coverage follows the recent launch of ESPN on Disney+, which offers sports highlights, news, the 30 for 30 documentary collection and selected programmes such as ESPN FC.

NBA coverage on Disney+ Malaysia begins on 22 October 2026, with no additional subscription required beyond an existing Disney+ plan.
