Check out the new and improved Volvo EC40, now in Malaysia for you

Volvo Car Malaysia has rebranded the Volvo C40 Recharge as the Volvo EC40, the brand’s first crossover SUV offered exclusively as an electric model. Originally launched in December 2022, the newly renamed Volvo EC40 comes with an impressive extended range of 554km*, a fresh Cloud Blue exterior, and enhanced customer transparency, aligning with Volvo’s streamlined model naming strategy.

The Volvo EC40 continues to offer standout features and after-sales services, ensuring an exceptional driving experience. Powered by an 82kWh battery pack, the EC40 supports a maximum DC charging input of 200kW, enabling a 10 to 80 percent charge in just 28 minutes**, making long trips even more convenient.

Moreover, it also features advanced pixel headlights, which use sensors to intelligently adjust brightness, optimizing driver visibility for safer journeys. Customers can enjoy five years of complimentary Digital Services, which include seamless access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Play Store, and remote vehicle functions through the Volvo Cars App.

In addition, the Volvo EC40 is backed by a five-year complimentary Volvo Service Plan (VSP), offering peace of mind with comprehensive, scheduled servicing through an authorized Volvo Service Centre. The Volvo EC40 now comes in the striking Cloud Blue exterior color, joining existing options like Onyx Black, Crystal White, Silver Dawn, and Sage Green.

Notably, the EC40 also offers an improved driving range, with a single charge now covering up to 554km*, making it a more efficient choice for eco-conscious drivers. Under the hood, the Volvo EC40 features a powerful twin-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant.

On top of that, equipped with a second-generation, in-house developed permanent magnet rear electric motor, this configuration delivers an impressive maximum output of 300kW, ensuring dynamic power delivery and a responsive, engaging driving experience.

The introduction of the Volvo EC40 is a key milestone in Volvo’s electrification strategy, with BEV and plug-in hybrid models making up 83 percent of the brand’s total retail sales in 2024, up from 71 percent the previous year. Volvo Car Malaysia has already launched three fully electric models, the Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, the Volvo EX30 and the Volvo EC40, with the much-anticipated Volvo EX90 set to be released later this year.

Priced at RM288,888***, the Volvo EC40 is available with flexible financing options and competitive interest rates through Volvo Car Financial Services. Customers who book the EC40 before 31 March 2025 will receive a complimentary wall box voucher worth RM5,000, adding even more value to this already compelling electric SUV.
