Vacheron Constantin continues its long-standing dialogue with Chinese culture with the latest addition to its Métiers d’Art The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac collection, unveiling two limited-edition watches dedicated to the Year of the Horse, which arrives with Lunar New Year in February 2026.
Produced in editions of just 25 pieces each, the new models are housed in either 950 platinum or 18K 5N pink gold cases, both measuring 40mm. At the heart of each watch is the manufacture Calibre 2460 G4, a self-winding movement designed without traditional hands, allowing the dial to function as a canvas for artistic expression. Time and calendar indications are displayed via four discreet apertures positioned around the dial’s perimeter, freeing the centre for decoration.
Galloping Zodiac

The dial showcases a striking three-dimensional horse, sculpted in relief and captured mid-leap over a rocky landscape. Symbolising vitality, elegance, courage and good fortune, the horse has held a powerful place in Chinese art and mythology for centuries. Its dynamic form is brought to life through a combination of hand engraving, miniature painting and grand feu enamelling, all executed by Vacheron Constantin’s métiers d’art specialists.

The applied horse and rock motif is hand-sculpted from gold, with meticulous attention given to fine details such as the mane, tail and musculature, enhanced through hand patination.
Behind it, a softly graduated enamel background transitions from light to dark tones, creating depth and contrast, while delicately painted flora adds a dreamlike quality to the scene. The dial alone requires weeks of work, including multiple firings at over 800°C to achieve the desired colour intensity and finish.
Ticking Heartbeat

Technically, Calibre 2460 G4 reflects Vacheron Constantin’s commitment to horological excellence. Comprising 237 components, the movement offers a 40-hour power reserve and is finished to the standards required by the Hallmark of Geneva, with visible hand-bevelled bridges, Côtes de Genève and a 22K gold oscillating weight adorned with a Maltese Cross motif.
Completing the design, the pink gold edition is paired with a brown alligator leather strap, while the platinum model features a blue alligator strap. Together, these watches stand as a refined tribute to the Year of the Horse, blending technical innovation, artistic craftsmanship and cultural symbolism into a truly collectible expression of haute horlogerie.
