Deanston has unveiled its Virgin Oak Chinese New Year 2026 limited-edition packaging in Malaysia, marking the Year of the Horse with a bold visual tribute that connects Scottish heritage with festive tradition. The release is brought to market locally by Single & Available and is available across selected retailers nationwide.
Created especially for Lunar New Year 2026, the specially designed external sleeve draws inspiration from The Kelpies—the world-renowned 30-metre-high stainless steel equine sculptures located between Falkirk and Grangemouth in Scotland.
Known as symbols of strength, craftsmanship and movement, the monumental horse heads provide a fitting creative reference for a Year of the Horse celebration, an animal traditionally associated with vitality, progress and success.
Timely For The Festivities
Rendered in flowing lines and festive colour tones, the artwork captures the dynamic energy of both the season and the iconic sculptures, framing the Deanston Virgin Oak bottle in a premium, gift-ready presentation. The result is a design that balances contemporary festivity with the distillery’s historic roots.
Deanston Virgin Oak is crafted at the historic Deanston Distillery in the Scottish Highlands. The single malt is initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels before undergoing a 9 to 12-month finish in virgin American oak casks, a maturation approach that has become a signature of the expression. Bottled at 46.3% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, the whisky reflects the distillery’s commitment to traditional production methods.

The expression has earned international recognition, including accolades from the International Wine & Spirits Competition and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, most recently achieving a 98-point score at the IWSC 2025, reinforcing its standing within the Highland single malt category.
The Deanston Virgin Oak Chinese New Year 2026 limited packaging is now available at selected retailers in Malaysia and online priced at RM257. With its symbolic design and limited availability, the release is positioned as a seasonal collectible and festive gifting option for the Lunar New Year period.
