Going to Hong Kong? Then you may want to check out this new fun-tastic Tory Burch pop-up at the Landmark
Tory Burch has launched an exciting pop-up store at the Landmark Hong Kong, the upscale shopping hub in Central. Running from now until January 31, 2025, this unique concept shop showcases a limited-edition capsule collection inspired by the works of German photographer Walter Schels.
Famous Faces
The pop-up’s grand opening on 26 August was a star-studded event, attended by notable figures including Yuqi Song from K-pop girl group (G)I-dle, Thai actor Hirunkit Changkham (Nani), Hong Kong’s Day from girl group Collar, singer Kayan9896, and Moon Tang.
The pop-up, located on the second floor of the Landmark Atrium, features a striking interior with large-scale prints of Schels’s portrait of a cat captured mid-meow, creating a dramatic and immersive backdrop. The capsule collection blends high fashion with artistic flair.
Global Inspo
Reflecting the global influences of Los Angeles, Shanghai, Paris, and Tokyo, the pop-up brings a fresh aesthetic to Hong Kong. This concept, originally developed by Tory Burch in collaboration with Humberto Leon, co-founder of Opening Ceremony and former co-creative director of Kenzo, takes inspiration from Leon’s background in visual merchandising.
The interior design features a shag carpet designed to mimic a cat tower, with plush ottomans, ledges, and display tables scattered throughout. Adding a touch of artistic elegance, Humberto Leon commissioned Aranza Garcia of Church Estudio in Merida, Mexico to create pink ceramic pedestals that display items from the capsule collection.

Tory Burch discovered Schels’ work years ago and was captivated by his portraits of animals, appreciating how they capture the essence and personality of their subjects. “Walter’s photographs offer a human element in the way animals are portrayed.” Burch explains. “He respects them as much as he does humans, highlighting their unique traits and emotions.”
Schels, known for his poignant portraits of celebrities and politicians, began photographing animals as a child. He shares, “Animals don’t disguise themselves; they are simply who they are.” Humberto Leon adds, “The images are striking and thought-provoking. We aimed to create an exhibition-like experience that reflects Tory’s love for the arts.”
