This Is What The New Balenciaga Flagship Store In Sydney Looks Like

Balenciaga Sydney

On 15 October 2025, Balenciaga opened the doors to its new flagship store in Westfield Sydney, its largest retail space in Australia to date. A grand opening event held on 23 October celebrated the occasion with an exclusive exhibition of archival couture pieces designed by the house’s founder, Cristóbal Balenciaga, alongside store-only product launches and a preview of the brand’s new fragrance collection.

Spanning two levels, the new store offers men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, accessories, eyewear, jewellery, and the Balenciaga Fragrance Collection, which was pre-launched exclusively for the opening.

Creative Space

The design follows the brand’s distinctive Raw Architecture concept — a fusion of mixed materials and textures that juxtapose softness with steel, coolness with warmth, and outdoor motifs with indoor design. The aesthetic remains faithful to Balenciaga’s commitment to sustainability by integrating existing structural elements.

The street-facing façade blends into the building’s raked exterior, featuring concrete walls, illuminated signage, and HD digital screens that stand in contrast to the polished interiors of the shopping centre.

Inside, industrial finishes and weathered steel partitions are softened by taupe carpeting, warm-tinted glass, and faux leather upholstery. A curtained dressing area offers a private space for personalised styling appointments, while design cues nod to the brand’s historic Paris headquarters at 10 Avenue George V.

Fashionable Showcase

From 23 October to 17 November, the store’s upper level hosts a special exhibition of six archival ensembles once worn by iconic figures including Grace Kelly, Marlene Dietrich, Hélène Abecassis, Francine Weisweiller, and Annabel Buffet. Displayed alongside vintage photographs, the showcase celebrates Balenciaga’s enduring craftsmanship and elegance.

Two Sydney-exclusive charms — one crafted in silicone featuring the city’s name, and another shaped like a miniature Sydney postcard — complete the launch, offering collectors a limited-edition keepsake of Balenciaga’s latest milestone in Australia.
