The Glenrothes 42 is the first expression of its age for the brand

The Glenrothes has launched The 42, a limited release single malt whisky that has been inspired by the colour and character of the distillery’s Highland home. This unique and delicious blend is the epitome of the brand’s mastery and will be sure to satisfy even the most discerning whisky drinkers.

The 42 is the first of its age to be released by The Glenrothes. The spirit is a union of hand-selected casks of The Glenrothes Single Malt that have matured for more than four decades on The Glenrothes Estate. All of this time is definitely noticeable in the extremely distinct and enjoyable smell and taste of the whisky.

Moreover, Master Whisky Maker Laura Rampling selected the spirit from just four casks that she judged to have reached a pinnacle of flavour. These spirits produce a liquid that reflects the changing colours of the Rothes landscape and shines through in the vibrant flavour profile of the whisky.

The terrain is also represented on the colourful, contoured packaging that houses the 42. This is another way that the whisky pays homage to the home where The Glenrothes 42 comes from and it also serves as a cool piece of art to admire when you have the bottle out.

Limited Edition

Plus, with distinctive aromas of sun-ripened apricots, sugared almonds, orange peel and coriander seed, The 42 delivers creamy vanilla, honeycomb and fragrant orange oil on the palate, with lingering aromatic finish. All this helps the whisky appeal to all whisky drinkers.

Available from May 2023, this union of hand-selected casks of The Glenrothes Single Malt that have matured for more than four decades will see just 1,134 bottles being made available worldwide.
