Afternoon tea gets a soulful, cultural twist with the newly launched Chapters of Heritage experience at The LIBRARI, tucked within the elegant setting of The RuMa Hotel and Residences.

Far more than a typical teatime ritual, this experience is a beautifully choreographed journey through Malaysia’s heritage – told through flavour, design, and tradition. From the moment guests arrive, they’re immersed in the story. A striking birdcage installation and Kebayaku sculptures offer a visual tribute to local culture, while ceremonial handwashing and graceful kneel-down service evoke the warmth of traditional Malaysian hospitality.

Served on a handcrafted congkak board, the Afternoon Tea menu unfolds in five artful “chapters”: Savoury, Sweet, Artisanal Scones, The Trolley Delights, and Artisan Chocolate Pralines. Expect local ingredients reimagined in refined ways – think entremets with pandan, coconut, and palm sugar; fluffy scones paired with house-made kaya and eco-conscious orange marmalade; and handmade pralines inspired by nostalgic Malaysian treats like Cendol, Sweet Laksa, and Crunchy Peanut.

Each set is complemented by a refreshing mocktail, with the option to elevate the experience on weekends with indulgent add-ons such as Beef or Salmon Wellington, or The Grand Volume – a decadent set for two. Chapters of Heritage is served daily from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM at The LIBRARI. The Prelude, a set for one, is priced at RM158, while The Grand Volume, available on weekends only, is RM348 for two.

In celebration of its debut, Chapters of Heritage invites guests to reconnect with cultural roots and timeless rituals. It’s a refined yet soulful experience – where every detail, from the presentation to the plating, feels like a page from a beautifully written story.
