The Anam Cam Ranh Serves Up An Afternoon Tea For Mango Lovers
Share
If you thought afternoon tea was all about scones and clotted cream, think again. The Anam Cam Ranh in Vietnam is giving the tradition a tropical twist with its newly launched “Afternoon Tea Mango Symphony”.
Set in the elegant surrounds of The Colonial, the resort’s fine dining restaurant, this refreshing take on tea time puts the spotlight on one of the region’s most celebrated fruits: the mango. Served daily from 3–5pm, the experience blends European sophistication with vibrant Vietnamese flavours.
Savoury Elements

On the savoury side, expect creative bites like poached tiger prawns with mango salsa, Iberico Bellota with charred mango and mustard dressing on sourdough, and salmon croquettes paired with mango chutney.
Then come the sweets – and they’re every bit as indulgent as they sound. Highlights include mango scones served with homemade mango jam and clotted cream, mango sago pudding with coconut panna cotta, and a zingy mango, lemon and almond tart.
The setting is just as delightful as the menu. With an open kitchen, a grand piano in the background, and a leafy garden courtyard, The Colonial oozes charm. Tea lovers can choose from a fine Dammann selection — think Earl Grey, peppermint and jasmine — or opt for local green tea for a Vietnamese touch.
Bounty Of The Land

According to Laurent Myter, Group General Manager of The Anam, the menu was inspired by the local bounty of Khanh Hoa province, where mangoes are more than just delicious — they’re a symbol of prosperity and abundance. “The quality of mangoes grown in our province can’t be beat,” he says. “We’ve reimagined them in a way that’s both playful and elegant.”
Whether you’re a traveller exploring Vietnam’s south-central coast or a foodie looking for a unique afternoon treat, this mango-themed tea is well worth a stop. The Afternoon Tea Mango Symphony is priced at 460,000 VND (RM74) nett for two — a sweet deal for an experience that’s as Instagrammable as it is flavourful.
