SKULLPANDA Singapore

The SKULLPANDA CAGE-UNCAGE Showcase is heading to Singapore for the first time, and fans of the iconic POP MART character have plenty to look forward to. Making its international debut at the National Museum of Singapore, the showcase marks a unique three-way collaboration between POP MART, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and the museum itself.

Together, they’re bringing a fresh mix of contemporary art, storytelling and collectible culture to one of Singapore’s most popular cultural spaces.

Running from 12 December 2025 to 22 February 2026, the showcase arrives after a successful run in Shanghai. This Singapore edition promises a new layer of meaning and experience, giving visitors a closer look at the artistic thinking behind SKULLPANDA. Fans can expect an immersive, slightly mysterious and very Instagram-friendly journey into the character’s world.

History And More

For those who don’t know the backstory, SKULLPANDA was created by Chinese artist Xiong Miao in 2018. The character reflects the uncertainties and choices we all face in life, and that theme sits at the heart of the CAGE-UNCAGE Showcase. Drawing on Xiong Miao’s background in game concept design, the exhibition uses interactive environments, large installations and symbolic everyday objects to explore ideas like emotion, rules, luck, exploration and direction. Door frames, locks, keys and other familiar items become visual metaphors, encouraging visitors to think about freedom, confinement and the decisions that shape who we are.

POP MART’s Senior Vice President and COO, Justin Moon, says the showcase is designed to help audiences discover the deeper artistic vision behind SKULLPANDA—beyond the cute, cool and collectible exterior. And it’s not just for fans. The National Museum sees the exhibition as part of its effort to connect with more diverse audiences by tapping into the massive global interest in collectibles and pop culture.

As a special highlight, Singapore’s edition includes a section inspired by the local bird-singing hobby—a nostalgic community pastime. It’s a charming way to give international visitors a taste of something uniquely Singaporean while tying it back to the themes of expression and connection at the centre of the exhibition.

Tickets are on sale now. Merchandise exclusives, timed entry and a POP MART pop-up store round out the experience.
