STB and Grab Join Forces to Boost Singapore Tourism with Smarter, Tastier Travel
Share
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Southeast Asia’s leading superapp, Grab, have just announced a major new partnership aimed at making travel in the city-state smoother, tastier, and more rewarding for visitors. The two organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the goal of boosting tourism, increasing spend, and showcasing the best of what Singapore has to offer.
At the core of the collaboration is a shared vision: make every traveller’s journey through Singapore more seamless and meaningful. By blending STB’s destination marketing expertise with Grab’s tech and data insights—particularly around dining and transport habits—they’re hoping to offer international visitors a more curated and convenient experience.
A big part of this initiative is data-sharing, which will help both parties better understand how visitor preferences are evolving. This ties into Singapore’s Tourism 2040 roadmap, which focuses on delivering quality tourism experiences that also benefit local communities.
Perks And Usability
One standout feature of the partnership is an upgraded Grab Travel Pass—a handy bundle offering discounts on rides and services for overseas visitors. The pass aims to simplify travel planning and increase on-the-ground mobility, encouraging tourists to explore beyond the usual hotspots.
STB will also connect Grab with local tourism players to support deeper collaboration. This includes working with event organisers to integrate Grab’s transport, food, and payment services into major happenings across the city.
Food, unsurprisingly, takes centre stage. With F&B making up 14% of tourism receipts in 2024 (a 73% jump from pre-pandemic levels), the partnership is keen to highlight Singapore’s world-class yet accessible culinary scene—from MICHELIN-starred restaurants to beloved hawker stalls. Grab’s Dine-Out Discovery tool will help guide visitors to lesser-known eateries across the island, driving traffic not just to food spots but to nearby retail outlets as well.
In short, this tie-up between STB and Grab looks set to deliver more value, more flavour, and more authentic adventures to anyone visiting Singapore.
