Production is officially underway for the highly anticipated HBO Original Harry Potter TV Series, with filming commencing at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, UK. The series is set to debut in 2027 on HBO and HBO Max, including in newly launching markets such as Germany, Italy, and the UK.

The latest casting announcements include Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander, further expanding the ensemble bringing J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world to the small screen.

Behind the scenes, a host of esteemed department heads have also been confirmed. These include Adriano Goldman as Director of Photography, Cate Hall as Hair and Makeup Designer, and Paul Herbert as Stunt Coordinator. Other key creatives on board include Mark Holt (SFX Supervisor), Mara LePere-Schloop (Production Designer), Naomi Moore (Set Decorator), John Nolan (Creature Effects Design Supervisor), Alexis Wajsbrot (VFX Supervisor), and Dom Sidoli (VFX Producer). Holly Waddington, previously announced, will serve as Costume Designer.

The series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, with Mark Mylod set to executive produce and direct multiple episodes. The project is a collaboration between HBO, Brontë Film and TV, and Warner Bros. Television.

Also attached as executive producers are J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, alongside David Heyman of Heyday Films — a return for Heyman, who produced all eight original Harry Potter films.

While fans await the new TV series, the complete Harry Potter film collection remains available to stream on HBO Max.
