Breitling and Aston Martin have expanded their long-running partnership with the launch of the Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5, a collection of three limited-edition watches inspired by one of Britain’s most celebrated sports cars.

The release pays homage to the Aston Martin DB5, introduced in 1963 and immortalised on screen alongside Sean Connery’s James Bond in Thunderball. The film also featured Breitling’s Top Time chronograph, creating one of the most memorable pairings of automotive and watch design of the era.

Drawing on the DB5’s distinctive interior, the new collection incorporates details such as a wooden inner bezel inspired by the car’s steering wheel, hand-coloured gradient leather straps that echo classic automotive upholstery and “squircle”-shaped subdials modelled after vintage dashboard instruments. The cushion-shaped case and mushroom pushers also reference the original Top Time chronographs of the 1960s.

The collection comprises three versions. A stainless steel model with a silver dial is limited to 1,022 pieces, while a steel and platinum edition with a black lacquered dial is limited to 315 pieces. Completing the range is a 250-piece edition in 18k red gold featuring Breitling’s first dial crafted from natural onyx.

Powering all three watches is the COSC-certified Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01, an in-house automatic chronograph movement with a column-wheel mechanism, vertical clutch and approximately 70 hours of power reserve. The movement is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback and features a specially engraved Aston Martin rotor.

The Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5 continues the collaboration between the two brands, combining design cues from one of the automotive world’s most enduring icons with Breitling’s modern interpretation of its classic Top Time chronograph.
