Watch fine wine and Italian engineering come together with Maserati and Tignanello
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Tignanello, the iconic red wine renowned for its groundbreaking techniques, Maserati has unveiled a bespoke version of its GranCabrio Folgore. This custom creation, crafted exclusively for Marchesi Antinori, epitomises the fusion of Italian excellence in automotive and winemaking traditions.
For A Good Cause
It will be auctioned at the prestigious Festival Napa Valley’s Arts for All Gala in California on 14 July 2024, with proceeds benefiting charity. The collaboration marks Maserati’s 110th anniversary, aligning its commitment to innovation with Antinori’s esteemed 600-year-old family legacy in winemaking.
Moreover, inspired by Tignanello’s rich heritage and the scenic vineyards of Marchesi Antinori, the GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello is adorned in Terra di Tignanello paint, a bespoke chestnut hue inspired by the vineyard’s soil, accented with coppery burgundy tones reminiscent of Tignanello’s oak barrels with matte black rims and glossy copper emblems too.
Elegance Inside And Out
Inside, the craftsmanship continues with seats upholstered in a unique Vegea fabric, derived from vineyard materials, reflecting the pattern of Tignanello’s vine rows. Dark briar wood panels, reminiscent of oak barrels, feature detailed inscriptions commemorating Tignanello’s history. The headrests are embroidered with the Maserati Trident and Tignanello’s iconic sun symbol.
The GranCabrio Folgore itself represents Maserati’s pinnacle of electric luxury, a convertible equipped with state-of-the-art 800V battery technology derived from Formula E. It blends high performance with comfort, featuring innovations like a neck warmer and wind stopper for an unparalleled driving experience.
A Family Recipe
Tignanello, a trailblazer in winemaking, embodies the spirit of the Antinori family’s motto, “Te Duce Proficio” (Following your guide I flourish). Crafted from Sangiovese and Cabernet grapes, it reflects meticulous vineyard practices at the renowned Tenuta Tignanello in Chianti Classico.
This collaboration not only celebrates milestones in automotive and viticultural history but also contributes to a charitable cause, making it a testament to Italian craftsmanship and cultural legacy.
