Chery’s iCAUR colourful automotive brand has just introduced the new iCAUR V27, a mid-to-large size off-road SUV, at an international event in Dubai.
The vehicle boasts a robust, boxy design with off-road capabilities, featuring a two-tone grille, oval-shaped LED headlamps, and a sturdy front bumper. It maintains the brand’s signature styling and is equipped with an extended-range powertrain, combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with an electric motor.

The V27, which is nearly 5 meters long, will be available in both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations, with the latter offering a combined output of approximately 449 horsepower. The SUV is expected to provide an all-electric range of about 200 kilometres under the CLTC standard.
Rugged, Boxy Design: The V27 has a boxy SUV body with pronounced wheel arches, large side mirrors, and pronounced front and rear bumpers, drawing comparisons to vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Toyota Land Cruiser.
EREV Powertrain: It utilizes a range-extended electric system, combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor for power and a long electric range.
Large Body: Measuring around 4.9 meters in length, the V27 is the largest model in the iCAUR lineup.
Specific Design Details: Notable features include rectangular headlights with circular LED daytime running lights, vertical taillights, plastic underbody claddings, and a side-hinged tailgate with an integrated storage box.
Expected Performance & Powertrain A 1.5-liter turbocharged engine acts as a generator for the EREV system.
Electric Range: It is expected to offer an electric-only range of approximately 200 km (CLTC standard).
Power Output: The AWD version of the V27 is reported to deliver a peak output of up to 449 hp (335 kW).
Drivetrain Options: Both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations are expected to be offered.
By the way, for its international debut in Dubai, Chery rebranded the original brand name ‘iCar’ to ‘iCAUR’ to avoid potential trademark issues with Apple’s long-rumoured “iCar” project. The global brand name change is intended to smooth the way for international sales which includes Malaysia.
