G-Shock Couture 2025

At COUTURE 2025, the world-renowned event for luxury jewellery and timepieces, Casio G-SHOCK unveiled its latest innovations in high-end horology, showcasing the evolution of its premium MR-G collection. Long admired for its toughness and technological innovation, G-SHOCK is now making a definitive mark in the luxury watch space.

Headlining the presentation were the newly launched MRGB2100R-2A, MRGB2100B-1A, and MRGB2100D-1A. These models draw inspiration from kigumi, a traditional Japanese woodworking technique known for its strength and precision—qualities central to the MR-G philosophy. Combining sophisticated design with G-SHOCK’s signature durability, these timepieces feature intricate case structures and premium materials.

Also featured were the MRGB5000B-1 and MRGB5000D-1, modern reinterpretations of the original G-SHOCK silhouette. Built from lightweight titanium, and finished with Sallaz polishing and sapphire crystal, these models elevate the iconic digital design with luxury-level craftsmanship.

In a bold expansion beyond traditional watchmaking, Casio debuted “Making Art with MR-G,” a new creative initiative inviting contemporary artists to reinterpret the MR-G ethos. The first collaboration features renowned artist Genta Ishizuka, who created an original urushi lacquer piece inspired by the MRGB2100B model, crafted from COBARION, a Japanese alloy four times harder than titanium.

With this multifaceted presentation, G-SHOCK signals its transformation from a rugged icon to a serious contender in luxury horology. Through its blend of advanced engineering, refined aesthetics, and artistic innovation, the MR-G line demonstrates how G-SHOCK is redefining what modern collectors expect from a luxury timepiece.
