National Geographic has unveiled the trailer for the highly anticipated new season of Limitless: Live Better Now, starring global movie star Chris Hemsworth. Following the international success of Limitless with Chris Hemsworth, which explored how to live longer, the new three-part series shifts focus to how we can all live better.

Premiering on 15 August on Disney+ Hotstar, the series once again teams Hemsworth with Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Darren Aronofsky’s Protozoa, Jane Root’s Nutopia, and Wild State, co-founded by Hemsworth and Ben Grayson. Shot across six countries over two years, the show explores ways to boost wellbeing by confronting three universal challenges: pain, fear, and cognitive decline.

Pushing The Boundaries

This season sees Hemsworth push himself further than ever. With no prior experience, he learns to play the drums for a surprise stadium performance alongside Ed Sheeran, climbs a 600-foot dam in the Swiss Alps to conquer fear and embrace risk, and undergoes brutal Special Forces training in South Korea—including electrocution and pepper spray—in a bid to rewire his relationship with chronic pain.

Joining Hemsworth are a lineup of experts and inspirational figures, including returning palliative care physician Dr BJ Miller, cognitive scientist Dr Maya Shankar, Parkway Drive drummer Ben Gordon, neuroscientist Prof Abigail Marsh, free solo climber Steph Davis, MMA fighter Kim Dong-hyun, and motocross legend Robbie Maddison.

Episodic Breakdown

The three episodes—Brain Power, Risk, and Pain—each tackle a different facet of wellbeing. Highlights include a viral clip from August 2024 of Hemsworth performing “Thinking Out Loud” with Sheeran before 70,000 fans in Romania. The video, featured in Brain Power, has already amassed nearly 35 million views across social media.

“Making this series has been a life-changing journey,” said Hemsworth. “I’ve learned so much about health, resilience, and what it truly means to live well. I hope it inspires others to step outside their comfort zones and embrace challenges.”

Season 1 of Limitless became National Geographic’s second most-watched streaming series ever, with nearly half its audience coming from outside the US. Check out the trailer here.
