You can new enjoy a new Tesla Model Y luxury crossover SUV on local shores
American automaker, Tesla, has officially announced its all-new electric SUV, the Model Y, is making its debut in Malaysia. The public can now experience the Model Y for the first time at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur until 31 October 2023. All trims of Model Y (Model Y Rear-wheel drive, Long Range, and Performance) will be displayed at Pavilion for public viewing and ordering.
Affordable Luxury
The Tesla Model Y is the newest, most affordable electric luxury SUV from Tesla and is designed and built as the brand’s first mass-market electric SUV which represents a critical step in the brand’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy, as outlined in the original Secret Tesla Master Plan.
Moreover, like every vehicle from the brand , the Model Y combines range, performance, safety, and technology and offers 2.1 cubic metres of cargo space, providing versatile seating and storage for up to 5 passengers along with their belongings. With its ultra-responsive motors, it also accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and boasts a range of up to 533km (WLTP).
Starting at RM199,000, the Tesla Model Y will begin delivery to Malaysian customers in early 2024 and the brand is committed and excited to help drive a zero emission and greener future for Malaysia. As part of its commitment to the Malaysian market, the brand has unveiled a comprehensive development plan for experience centres, service and support, as well as charging infrastructure in the country, aimed at delivering a seamless ownership experience.
On top of that, Tesla also designs, manufactures, deploys, owns and operates the world’s largest fast charging network. The first indoor Supercharger Station with a total of 8 Superchargers at Pavilion KL will be open soon. The brand also plans to open multiple Supercharging stations at strategic locations to cover popular destinations across the country.
Peak Efficiency
With Tesla Supercharging, the Model Y can operate at peak efficiency of 250kW, and can charge up to 120km in just 5 minutes which further solidifies the brand’s commitment to enabling convenient and efficient cross-country travel for Tesla vehicles in the region in line with Malaysia’s goal to promote low-carbon mobility and support the EV industry.
