Jaclyn Victor to Join the MPO for Gemilang Bersama MPO

Share

For more than two decades, Jaclyn Victor has been one of Malaysia’s most distinctive voices. Now, the singer will revisit some of her most celebrated songs in a new setting, joining the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) for Gemilang Bersama MPO on 17 October 2026 at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS in Kuala Lumpur.

The concert brings together Jaclyn’s pop repertoire with the scale and nuance of a symphonic arrangement. Audiences can expect fresh interpretations of songs including Gemilang, Ikut Rentakku, Di Bawah Pohon Asmara, Tiada Lagi Indah and Beribu Sesalan, alongside her renditions of Tunggu Sekejap, When I Fall In Love, Superwoman, Diamonds Are Forever, Chong Bai and Defying Gravity.

The arrangements come from a roster of Malaysian and regional arrangers including Aubrey Suwito, Luqman Aziz, Shahhakam Mokhtar, Teuku Umar Ilany, Leonard Yeap, Gerard Salonga and Ahmad Muriz Che Rose, who will also lead the MPO for the performance.

Jaclyn’s association with the orchestra goes back several years, having previously appeared as a guest singer at Aubrey Suwito & Friends in 2017, Judika & the MPO in 2019 and The Magnificent Seven in 2022.

Her career took off after winning the inaugural Malaysian Idol in 2004. Her debut album, Gemilang, went on to win multiple honours at the Anugerah Industri Muzik, establishing her as one of the country’s leading vocal talents.

With Gemilang Bersama MPO, that repertoire takes on a new dimension — bringing a familiar voice into dialogue with the orchestra’s expansive musical palette.

Concert details: Saturday, 17 October 2026, 8pm; Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
