HBO Max is rolling out a powerhouse slate of new shows, blockbuster movies, and returning favourites this September, giving fans of drama, comedy, thrillers, reality TV, and iconic franchises plenty to stream throughout the month.

Drama & Thrillers

HBO Max September Task

Task.

Leading the month’s drama lineup is the highly anticipated HBO Original series Task, premiering September 8. Starring Mark Ruffalo and Fabien Frankel, this intense new series promises high-stakes storytelling and compelling performances.

Meanwhile, spy thriller Black Bag debuts September 20, bringing together an A-list cast including Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, and Pierce Brosnan. Thriller fans can also look forward to Nicolas Cage in Arcadian, arriving on HBO Max September 6 and airing on HBO September 15 at 9PM MYT.

Also on the movie front is the stirring drama Rob Peace, premiering September 3, followed by underwater survival thriller Last Breath on September 13.

Comedy Royalty & Animated Comebacks

The Paper.

Comedy fans can dive into The Paper, a brand-new series premiering September 4. Starring Domhnall Gleeson (Harry Potter) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), the show comes from Greg Daniels, the creator behind The Office. Expect sharp writing and standout performances in this much-anticipated workplace comedy.

For animation lovers, Totally Spies Season 7 returns with new episodes on September 4 and 18, while Batwheels Season 2 continues to rev up screens starting September 18.

Franchise Celebrations

September is a major month for franchise fans. Back to Hogwarts Day returns on September 1, inviting fans to revisit the full Harry Potter movie collection and related specials, including Fantastic Beasts, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, and Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking.

Later in September on HBO Max, Batman Day brings the spotlight back to the Dark Knight with streaming favourites like The Batman (starring Robert Pattinson), The Dark Knight, Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League, and Batwheels, all available on the streamer.
