Garmin has officially launched the latest addition to its premium GPS smartwatch line, the fēnix 8 MicroLED. The new model marks a major leap forward in wearable technology with the debut of its first-ever MicroLED display.

Described as the brightest smartwatch ever produced, the fēnix 8 MicroLED features an ultra-high-resolution display capable of delivering up to 4,500 nits of brightness. With over 400,000 individual MicroLEDs, the new screen offers exceptional clarity, colour accuracy, and readability, even in direct sunlight. This milestone signals a new era for Garmin’s flagship fēnix series, known for combining rugged performance with cutting-edge innovation.

The fēnix line has consistently led the charge in outdoor-focused wearables, from introducing the world’s first solar-powered smartwatch (fēnix 6, 2020) to integrating multi-band GNSS and LED flashlights in the fēnix 7 (2022).

The fēnix 8 MicroLED builds on that legacy with a display that offers a 15% wider colour gamut, six times higher contrast, and triple the durability compared to previous models. Its ultra-wide viewing angles ensure superior visibility from any angle, while enhanced burn-in resistance significantly extends screen lifespan.

Designed for adventurers, athletes and outdoor professionals, the fēnix 8 also comes packed with Garmin’s full suite of performance, navigation, health and wellness features. These include endurance and hill scores, daily workout suggestions, TopoActive maps, dynamic routing, the Garmin ECG App, a sleep coach, Garmin Pay, and built-in safety and tracking functions.

The Garmin fēnix 8 MicroLED will be available from October 2025, priced at RM8,479. It can be purchased via the Garmin e-store, Shopee, Lazada, AECO e-store, Garmin Brand Stores, and authorised retailers.
