Garmin has expanded its lineup of satellite communicators with the launch of the inReach Mini 3 Plus, a compact, rugged device designed for explorers heading beyond mobile coverage. The new model adds voice messaging, photo sharing, and a colour touchscreen—bringing more ways to stay connected while off the grid.

Built for remote travel, the inReach Mini 3 Plus allows users to send and receive voice messages, texts, and photos via satellite, helping adventurers keep in touch with family and friends even in areas without cellular service. The device includes a built-in speaker and microphone, making communication more intuitive while on the move.

Battery life remains a key focus. With up to 330 hours in 10-minute tracking mode, the inReach Mini 3 Plus is designed for multi-day trips without the need for frequent charging. Its compact form factor makes it easy to clip onto a backpack, while the rugged build is rated IP67 water-resistant and engineered to operate in extreme temperatures.

Safety remains central to the inReach experience. In an emergency, users can trigger an interactive SOS message that connects directly to the global Garmin Response coordination centre. Voice and photo sharing during an SOS allows responders to better understand the situation, while coordinators stay in contact with users, emergency contacts, and local rescue services. Garmin reports that its response team has supported more than 18,000 incidents worldwide across land, sea, and air.

Built For Adventures

The new communication features offer flexibility depending on the situation. Users can exchange short voice messages, read voice message transcriptions when sound isn’t practical, send text messages and emojis, or share photos using the Garmin Messenger app. LiveTrack also allows friends and family to follow an adventure in real time, including distance, time, and elevation data.

When paired with the Garmin Explore app, users can plan trips, follow routes, and navigate back to their starting point. In Malaysia, the inReach Mini 3 Plus is priced at RM2,249, while the inReach Mini 3 retails at RM1,999, both available exclusively at Garmin Brand Stores.
