Kuala Lumpur welcomes the debut of FUTURA CONNECTIVA KL at REXKL from 12–14 December 2025, showcasing Indonesia’s vibrant comics, animation, and character-IP ecosystem. The programme marks the first collective presentation of contemporary Indonesian creators in Malaysia, offering business matching, public talks, and an immersive exhibition.
Supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur (KBRI Kuala Lumpur) under its GEBYAR NUSANTARA initiative and DISPAREKRAF DKI Jakarta, the event reflects Jakarta’s ambition to position itself as a global creative hub, while opening new pathways for collaboration between Malaysian and Indonesian creative industries.

FUTURA CONNECTIVA KL spotlights some of Indonesia’s most recognisable intellectual properties, including:
Tahilalats – the popular webcomic phenomenon
Si Juki – a cultural icon spanning multiple media
Milk & Mocha Bear – a globally loved kawaii brand
Bandits of Batavia – soon to be adapted into a feature film
Janisaris – a best-selling historical-fantasy series
Alongside these established names, emerging creators shaping the next wave of Indonesian visual storytelling are also featured.
Immersive Exhibition (12–14 December 2025)

REXKL’s theatre space is transformed into a multi-sensory digital showcase, with large-scale projections and animated displays bringing Indonesian comics and character worlds to life. Admission is free, inviting the public to explore the creative breadth of Indonesia’s contemporary IP landscape.
Business Matching & Opening Ceremony (12 December 2025)
The opening day offers business engagement (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) connecting Indonesian creators with Malaysian publishers, animation studios, licensors, and creative companies. The evening reception will be officiated by:

Saturday’s programme features sessions with leading creators and studios, including Faza Meonk (Si Juki), TAMPAR Animation Studio, CARAVAN Studio, MilkMochaBear, Tahilalats, and Wahyu Aditya (Cican, Hellomotion). Topics explore:
