The new gallery opens on 30 November

Art aficionados rejoice as the FCC Angkor by Avani is taking its cultural experience up a notch by launching the first solo gallery of internationally recognized and celebrated artist, Christian Develter. Also this stunning solo gallery is set to open on 30 November 2022 in grand fashion.

What’s more, attending the Christian Develter solo gallery at FCC Angkor by Avani, are the HRH Princess Sita Norodom and the Belgian Ambassador to Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos H.E. Ms.Sibille de Cartier d’Yves. This vibrant showcase will feature the artist’s signature artworks including original paintings, limited edition lithographs, sculptures and iconic fashion items.

Moreover, the Belgian born artist’s most famous oeuvres being displayed at the FCC Angkor by Avani is fitting as his work is interwoven with the rich history of Cambodia. This means the gallery adds some modernism to the neo-colonial architecture and design of the rustic resort.

To honour the collaboration with FCC Angkor by Avani, Christian Develter’s new Mara Sculpture Collection will also be placed on display, for the first time ever, in Siem Reap to pay homage to the city that the artist calls home. This beautiful display will ensure that the art lives on in the city forever.

Additionally, the new sculpture collection is an evolution of the artist’s renowned Chin series. These art pieces enlarge large-scale works from a canvas into the third dimension perfectly highlighting the intricately tattooed faces of the Chin Tribe women.

The art Christian Develter will present at the FCC Angkor are not just beautiful, but also tell a story of great importance as it helped employ the local artisans of Siem Reap during the pandemic. Together Develter and his team brought these amazing works of art which are now on display at the FCC Angkor.

Speaking of the launching of the gallery, Christian Develter, said, “It is with great joy that we celebrate the launch of The Develter Gallery at the historic FCC Angkor.
