As it hits half a century fans of Casio can celebrate the Carbotech offerings
Casio is celebrating a major milestone with the release of five stunning new timepieces to mark its 50th anniversary in the watch industry. The “Sky and Sea” collection, which spans across five of Casio’s renowned watch brands, Casiotron, G-SHOCK, EDIFICE, PRO TREK, and BABY-G, brings a fresh and vibrant design theme to commemorate half a century of innovation.
Unique Pieces
Each watch in this special edition series including the Carbotech model features elegant blue and gold accents, designed to capture the dazzling beauty of the sky and the sea. This collection is particularly notable as it represents the first time Casio has unified five different brands under a single thematic concept.
Casio’s journey in the watch industry began in 1974 with the release of the Casiotron QW02, the world’s first digital watch with an automatic calendar. This groundbreaking timepiece not only displayed the time but also kept track of the month, date, and day of the week, a significant leap in wrist watch technology.
For Everyone
Since then, Casio has continued to push the boundaries of watch functionality, incorporating features such as standard time radio wave reception, Mobile Link connectivity, and solar charging, all while developing distinctive timepieces that cater to a variety of lifestyles.
Notably, the “Sky and Sea” collection pays homage to Casio’s rich history by incorporating design elements from the original Casiotron QW02, including its iconic fluted pattern and a unique triangular motif on the case back. These elements are a nod to the brand’s commitment to innovation and its legacy of crafting fully automatic wristwatches.
Additionally, each watch in this collection is eco-conscious, featuring the Tough Solar charging system that harnesses sunlight and fluorescent light to power the timepiece, along with special packaging made from recycled materials.
As Casio celebrates 50 years in the timepiece business, the “Sky and Sea” collection not only highlights the brand’s heritage but also its ongoing dedication to pushing the boundaries of wristwatch technology and design.
