Casio Launches Back To The Future Inspired Watch

Share

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has announced the release of a new limited-edition watch inspired by Back to the Future. The timepiece commemorates the 40th anniversary of the beloved Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment film.

The CA-500WEBF, is based on Casio’s classic CA-500 digital calculator watch—an enduring fan favourite since the 1980s. This special edition model celebrates the fusion of retro design and cinematic legacy, produced in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences (UP&E).

Drawing inspiration from the film’s unforgettable visual motifs, the CA-500WEBF features a watch face design influenced by the Time Machine’s taillights and its iconic “OUTATIME” licence plate.

The watch’s multi-coloured buttons reference the time circuits used to set the DeLorean’s date and time—a clever nod to the film’s central time-travel concept. On the back of the case is an engraving of the legendary flux capacitor, the fictional device that powers time travel in the film. The buckle also bears the Back to the Future logo, adding to the collector’s appeal.

The attention to detail continues with the packaging, which is designed to resemble a vintage VHS tape, a loving tribute to the era in which the film first captivated audiences.

This retro aesthetic, paired with functional design, makes the CA-500WEBF a unique collector’s item for both film buffs and watch enthusiasts alike.

Casio describes the release as a celebration of the “playful spirit and storyline” of Back to the Future, bringing the joy of the film into everyday life. With only a limited number expected to be produced, the CA-500WEBF is likely to become a sought-after piece for fans of both horology and Hollywood nostalgia.

The CA-500WEBF is set to go on sale later this year.
