Canon has unveiled a new suite of video-focused products designed to empower content creators with cutting-edge tools for both stills and video production. The launch introduces four key products: the Canon EOS R50 V, PowerShot V1, RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens, and RF 20mm f/1.4L VCM lens. Each expands the brand’s hybrid ecosystem for creative versatility.
The EOS R50 V is an interchangeable lens camera with a 24.2MP APS-C sensor and professional-grade video features, including 4K 30p/60p, Full HD slow motion, Canon Log 3, and Dual Pixel CMOS AF II. It also offers movie-centric ergonomics, livestreaming support, and compatibility with the RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens, which provides smooth, servo-controlled zoom for dynamic video shoots. This camera targets creators who need both high-quality photos and cinematic video production.
A Power Shot
The PowerShot V1 is a compact video-centric camera designed for creators who want an all-in-one solution. Featuring a 22.3MP 1.4-inch sensor, 16-50mm zoom, Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, and a built-in cooling fan for extended livestreaming, it’s perfect for vloggers and livestreamers. It also includes a 3-stop ND filter and 14 color filters for immediate visual styling, offering a portable yet powerful tool for content creators.
The RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens is Canon’s first RF lens with built-in power zoom, providing smooth zooming for dynamic video work and stable shooting, even without a gimbal. It’s perfect for vloggers and solo creators who need versatile and compact equipment.
Finally, the RF 20mm f/1.4L VCM lens offers an ultra-wide 20mm focal length with a large f/1.4 aperture for low-light flexibility and fast, near-silent autofocus. It also includes advanced video-friendly features like focus breathing suppression and clickless iris rings, making it ideal for both stills and video production.
These new products are set to be available by April 2025, with prices for the PowerShot V1 at RM3,999 and the RF 20mm f/1.4L VCM at RM8,199. The EOS R50 V will be announced at a later date.
