Canon is helping shutterbugs imagine bigger with the new EOS R5 Mark II
Canon Marketing Malaysia introduces the EOS R5 Mark II, a groundbreaking addition to its renowned “5 series” lineup of full-frame mirrorless cameras. Pioneering features include a newly developed 45-megapixel back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor and an Accelerated Capture system powered by DIGIC Accelerator and DIGIC X processors.

These innovations propel the Canon EOS R5 Mark II to new heights of performance, setting benchmarks in autofocus (AF) capabilities and video production. Edward Chang, Head of Image Communication Business Division at Canon Marketing Malaysia, emphasises the camera’s transformative impact on videographers, content creators, and hybrid shooters.
The EOS R5 Mark II integrates the best elements of its predecessor, the EOS R5, while introducing groundbreaking advancements aimed at inspiring creativity and enhancing content creation.
Highlights
Key Features and Innovations include a high-performance sensor and processor. The 45-megapixel BSI stacked CMOS sensor, combined with the DIGIC Accelerator and DIGIC X processors, delivers exceptional speed and image quality. It enables advanced AF performance and high-speed data processing, setting new standards for mirrorless cameras.
It also sports a dual pixel intelligent AF. Leveraging deep learning and the Accelerated Capture system, the Dual Pixel Intelligent AF system enhances subject detection and tracking accuracy during both video and stills shooting. Features like Register People Priority and Action Priority AF modes cater specifically to dynamic shooting environments.
Cinematic Quality
On top of that, the new camera has cinema EOS features. Designed to meet professional filmmaking standards, the EOS R5 Mark II supports internal 8K DCI 60p RAW video recording. It includes Cinema EOS system tools like waveform monitors and false colours, ensuring precise exposure control and compatibility with professional workflows.
It also has an enhanced AF control: A standout feature is the Eye Control AF, a first for the “5 series” cameras, which allows users to shift the AF frame by simply looking at the subject. This, combined with customisable AF settings and focus presets, provides unparalleled control over focus and many more features.
