Zentis Osaka, a member of Design Hotels, has unveiled a new accommodation package tailored specifically for solo travellers. Launched in response to the continued rise of digital nomads and the growing appetite for independent travel, the ‘Ohitori Osaka by Zentis’ package is crafted to enhance the experience of guests exploring the city on their own terms.

Going Solo

Designed for those who embrace the “party of one” lifestyle – or simply want a quiet weekend away – the package includes a two-night stay in a choice of Studio, Corner Studio or Suite, along with daily breakfast at UPSTAIRZ, where guests can choose between Japanese, American or vegan sets.

On arrival, the in-room mini-fridge is stocked with five complimentary drinks, including three locally brewed Osaka beers. Guests also receive a bespoke cocktail at UPSTAIRZ Bar, created to suit their personal tastes.

To complement the solo experience, guests can select either a curated skincare set by Japanese brand SISI or a fabric fragrance mist from The Flavor Design, an Osaka-based atelier. A Zentis Osaka eco-bag is also included as a take-home memento.

For Independent Travellers

SISI, founded with a focus on supporting modern lifestyles, brings a clean-beauty ethos to the package with its popular “I’m Your HERO” cleanser, vitamin C-rich “High Jump30” serum and the hydrating “Magic Catcher” mask. Meanwhile, The Flavor Design offers guests a choice of three scents – “Linger”, “Day Off” and “Breakers” – two of which were created exclusively for the hotel.

Beyond the package inclusions, guests can enjoy an elegant afternoon tea at UPSTAIRZ Lounge or experience the shift from casual daytime dining to an umami-forward French-inspired dinner at the MICHELIN-recommended UPSTAIRZ Restaurant.

“Japan is one of the safest countries in the world, making it an ideal destination for independent travellers,” said General Manager Kiyotaka Saito. “We’ve seen a marked cultural shift in Japan towards embracing ‘ohitori-sama’, from dining out to enjoying cultural activities solo. As a lifestyle hotel with intimate spaces and a warm atmosphere, Zentis Osaka is perfectly placed to welcome guests who want to explore, unwind and refresh.”

Ideal Location

Located where the riverside area of Dojimahama meets the upscale entertainment hub of Kita-shinchi, Zentis Osaka offers convenient access to transport links and to Nishi-Umeda’s growing collection of shops and restaurants. Cultural highlights on nearby Nakanoshima – including the Nakanoshima Museum of Art and the National Museum of Art – are just a short walk away.

Within the hotel, guests can make use of the main-floor Guest Lounge, complete with a communal work table and garden views, suited to both remote workers and those seeking a quiet corner to relax. Another signature feature is Room 001, a multipurpose space equipped with a self-service laundry area, cosy seating, a Nespresso bar, a shoeshine service run by The Shoeshine Guild, and a seasonal “fragrance bar”.

For those wishing to explore Osaka further, the hotel can arrange activities including a small-group wooden-boat river cruise offering a unique perspective of the city’s waterways. Staff are also on hand with personalised recommendations and walking routes ideal for solo adventurers. One suggested stop: a retro Osaka café dating back to 1947, known for its nostalgic Shōwa-era ambience and popular cutlet sandwiches.

The ‘Ohitori Osaka by Zentis’ package opens for bookings on 18 November for stays from 3 January 2026 onwards. Rates start from JPY 58,000 (MYR1535) for single occupancy, excluding taxes and service charge.
