The Macallan Unveils Latest Harmony Collection Release In Collaboration With JING Tea
Share
The Macallan has unveiled the latest release in its Harmony Collection, introducing two limited-edition single malt Scotch whiskies created in collaboration with JING, curators of some of the world’s finest single garden teas. The 2025 edition celebrates the shared artistry, provenance and craftsmanship that unite whisky and tea, drawing inspiration from distinctive teas sourced from unique origins.
The two expressions — Inspired By Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea and Inspired By Organic Cherrywood Lapsang Tea — reflect the character and flavour profiles of individual teas curated by JING. Each whisky has been carefully crafted by The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team to mirror the complexity and nuance found in single garden teas, while continuing the evolving narrative of the Harmony Collection.
Time For Tea

Inspired By Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea pays tribute to a rare and aromatic oolong tea traditionally grown in the Phoenix Mountain range of Guangdong, China. Predominantly matured in Sherry Seasoned American oak casks, with additional influence from Sherry Seasoned European oak and a subtle inclusion of ex-bourbon American oak, the whisky displays a warm honey hue and layered notes of peach, apricot, floral honey, tropical fruits, toffee and sweet oak.
The second expression, Inspired By Organic Cherrywood Lapsang Tea, is an exclusive Global Travel Retail release. Drawing inspiration from JING’s reinvented Lapsang Souchong, delicately smoked over cherrywood in the UK, the whisky is primarily matured in Sherry Seasoned European oak casks, complemented by American oak. The result is a rich, flavour-led expression that reflects the tea’s distinctive smoky character.
Shared Traditions

To mark the collaboration, The Macallan has also introduced a bespoke whisky and tea pairing ritual inspired by the traditional Chinese Gong Fu tea ceremony, highlighting shared values of terroir, tradition and communal enjoyment.
Jaume Ferras, Creative Director at The Macallan, described the collaboration as “a celebration of the parallels between whisky and tea — two crafts deeply rooted in nature, tradition and time.” JING CEO Melanie Tricklebank added that the partnership represents “a true meeting of minds and traditions”.
As with previous Harmony Collection releases, sustainability remains central, with presentation boxes crafted from repurposed waste tea leaves. Inspired By Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea is now available at selected retailers in Malaysia, while Inspired By Organic Cherrywood Lapsang Tea is available exclusively through Global Travel Retail.
