BBC Studios Natural History Unit has released its global trailer for Asia, the latest natural history series narrated by Sir David Attenborough which explores the wildlife and landscapes of our planet’s largest continent. The inspiring two-minute series trailer features original music by K-pop icon SEVENTEEN and award-winning composers Jacob Shea and Laurentia Editha for Bleeding Fingers.

Life, Asia and Music

Spanning the continent, the trailer reveals some of the extraordinary creatures and wondrous landscapes uncovered in the series showcasing the diversity of wildlife from this incredible part of our planet. Audiences will see remarkable behaviour across this seven-part series, including urban deer on the commute with workers in Japan and an alien sea bunny slithering on the Indonesian ocean floor – Asia is a continent like no other.

K-Pop Fever

With the biggest selling album world-wide in 2023, SEVENTEEN made history by becoming the first K-pop act to perform on Glastonbury’s iconic Pyramid Stage earlier this year as they continue to take the world by storm.

This original uplifting track, with vocals by DK and SEUNGKWAN, transports the viewer on an emotional journey through Asia with the orchestral swells from the renowned Bleeding Fingers accompanying the breath-taking imagery.

The first look extended trailer will be released on multiple channels including BBC Earth and BBC Studios Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accounts as well as on-air globally. It will also feature on the social media accounts of the group and Bleeding Fingers.

Creative Collaboration

“We are incredibly honoured to be a part of this ground-breaking new series Asia that reveals the untold stories of the continent’s breath-taking natural beauty and wonders,” said the K-Pop group. As artists, it is important for us to spread solidarity and positivity through our music, and to be able to work on this vital project alongside the legendary Sir David Attenborough and the multi-award-winning Bleeding Fingers is truly a full-circle moment for us. We hope the music we created together will bring audiences closer to the series.”

On the collaboration, Russell Emanuel, CEO/President of Bleeding Fingers Music offered, “Working with world-renowned artists on flagship BBC Studios Natural History series is always a thrill. For the trailer of “Asia,” teaming up with SEVENTEEN was the perfect fit, both authentically and creatively. They embraced the opportunity and brought so much passion and energy to the music, making it a truly memorable collaboration!”

Asia will be coming soon to Malaysia on BBC Earth and BBC Player.
