OYO Launches Luxury Brand SUNDAY Hotels In Malaysia

Global hospitality technology company OYO has debuted its premium brand, SUNDAY Hotels, in Malaysia with the simultaneous opening of two stylish properties — one in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and the other near the picturesque Pantai Cenang in Langkawi.
The new SUNDAY Hotel in Kuala Lumpur is located just steps from the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, offering guests seamless access to major attractions such as KLCC Park, the Petrosains Science Discovery Centre, Menara Kuala Lumpur (KL Tower), and Masjid Jamek. Guests can easily explore the city by foot, via the LRT (KLCC or Bukit Nanas stations), or short ride-hailing trips.
Meanwhile, the SUNDAY Hotel in Pantai Cenang is nestled in a quieter part of Langkawi, just a five-minute stroll from Cenang Beach and around 10 km from Langkawi International Airport, offering a peaceful yet connected stay for beach lovers and holidaymakers.
Expanded Footprint
OYO plans to open 10 more SUNDAY Hotels in Malaysia in 2025, with expansion planned in key tourism hubs such as Johor Bahru, Penang Island, Kuantan, and Kota Kinabalu. The move reflects OYO’s strategy to scale its premium offerings globally, building on successful launches of the SUNDAY brand in India, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and Dubai.

SUNDAY Hotels blend contemporary design, top-tier service, and mindfully curated experiences that break away from the traditional hotel format. Each property offers spacious, elegantly designed rooms with high-speed Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, premium bedding, luxury bathrooms, and amenities such as in-room dining and concierge services.
Originally launched in May 2023 in Jaipur, India, through a joint venture between SoftBank and Oravel Stays, the SUNDAY brand now includes multiple properties globally and aims to reach 25 hotels in India by March 2025.
