Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra will present Jazz, Classical And Beyond With The MPO on 13 June 2026 at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, showcasing a programme that bridges jazz and classical music.

Conducted by MPO Music Director Junichi Hirokami, the concert features works by Joseph Haydn, Duke Ellington, Nikolai Kapustin and Franz Schubert.

The evening opens with Haydn’s Symphony No.100 “Military”, followed by Ellington’s jazz classic Caravan, one of the most recorded jazz standards in history.

Acclaimed pianist Frank Dupree will join the orchestra for Kapustin’s Piano Concerto No.4, a jazz-inspired work known for its changing tempos and improvisational energy. Dupree is internationally recognised for his interpretations of Kapustin’s music and has performed with major orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic and Frankfurt Radio Symphony.

The programme concludes with Schubert’s Symphony No.5 in B flat, bringing the concert to a lively finale. The performance takes place at 8pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, KLCC.
