Marriott Good Travel

Marriott International has unveiled a fresh line-up of immersive travel experiences in Malaysia under its Good Travel with Marriott Bonvoy programme — designed for travellers who want more than just a holiday.

Rolling out across Asia Pacific (excluding China), the initiative now includes nearly 100 curated experiences across close to 80 hotels in 12 markets.

Built around two core pillars — Community and Environment — the programme encourages guests to connect more deeply with the places they visit while making a positive impact.

“Today’s travellers want to travel with intention,” said John Toomey, Chief Commercial Officer for the region. “They’re looking to better understand destinations and contribute meaningfully.”

Hands-on experiences across Malaysia

Malaysia’s cultural diversity and natural beauty make it a standout destination for the programme. Participating hotels are offering hands-on activities that blend education, sustainability and local heritage.

In Kuala Lumpur, guests at W Kuala Lumpur can learn to grow mushrooms and herbs sustainably before turning their harvest into a chef-led dish. Meanwhile, The Ritz-Carlton Langkawi offers a marine conservation experience focused on protecting sea cucumber populations — a crucial part of coastal ecosystems.

Art and culture enthusiasts can explore Malaysian craftsmanship at Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur, while sustainability-focused travellers can transform oyster shells into artwork at Penang Marriott Hotel.

Culture, sustainability and family-friendly learning

The programme also caters to families and curious learners. At Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre, guests can join workshops on reducing food waste by creating snacks from leftover ingredients. Over in Melaka, Courtyard by Marriott Melaka offers sessions on traditional Nyonya beadwork, preserving an important element of Peranakan heritage.

Children can take part in upcycling workshops that turn everyday discarded materials into functional or decorative items — blending creativity with environmental awareness.

With these thoughtfully designed activities, Good Travel with Marriott Bonvoy is tapping into a growing shift towards more conscious tourism. Whether it’s supporting local artisans, protecting marine life or learning sustainable living practices, the programme invites travellers to leave a destination better than they found it.
