Garmin has expanded its golf ecosystem with three new essential tools. Introducing the Approach S50 GPS golf smartwatch, Approach CT1 club trackers, and Approach G20 Solar, the first solar-powered golf handheld for advanced performance tracking on the green.

A New Approach

Approach S50, a new addition to the popular golf smartwatch lineup from Garmin features a slim, lightweight build and essential tools for golfers looking to improve their game. Equipped with crisp, 1.2-inch colour AMOLED displays, the new smartwatch includes preloaded maps of more than 43,000 golf courses and key golf features like hazard view and distance to the front, middle and back of the green to help players lower their score.

The Approach S50 delivers up to 20 hours of battery life in GPS mode – so players can stay on the course longer. Plus, users can leave their phone in the cart and receive smart notifications on their wrist, including emails, texts and alerts when paired to an Apple or an Android smartphone.

The Approach S50 provides essential golf features while also adding PlaysLike distance. It also includes a heart rate sensor which offers a full suite of health, wellness and fitness features to help golfers improve on and off the course.

In addition to the extensive health and wellness features, the Approach S50’s lightweight design and performance-focused nylon strap , allows golfers to wear their watch comfortably all day long. Users can also receive smart notifications, breeze through checkout lines with Garmin Pay and listen to music or podcasts on the go with Spotify, Amazon Music or Deezer3 – all from their wrist.

Game Up

Record every stroke on the Approach S50 smartwatch with the all-new Approach CT1 tracking tags4. Lightweight and secure, the tags attach to the end of a club’s grip and collect data from each club in the bag – from driver to putter – recording shot locations, distances and club type. Before each shot, players just tap the tag to their watch to record stats on their wrist.

While on the course, golfers can use the Approach CT1 tags to see how far they typically hit each club and view stats for accuracy to the fairway or green. After a round, players can use the Garmin Golf app to see strokes gained analysis for each part of their game and follow trends to know where improvement is needed.

Approach G20 Solar, the first solar-powered GPS golf handheld that provides unlimited battery life when used in sunny conditions5. While on the course, golfers can see yardage to the front, middle and back of the green and plan their approach using the 2.2-inch high-contrast screen. And thanks to the big, easy-to-read numbers, players of all ages can read distances during play – even on bright, sunny days.

Play day after day, round after round without needing to recharge the Approach G20 Solar. The solar-powered display makes it easy to stay on the course for an extra 18 holes or even stash it in a golf bag after the round without worrying about recharging before the next tee time. Even when playing in sub-optimal conditions, players can expect to use it for up to 36 rounds without solar charging.
