Club Med has announced a new premium resort in Manado, North Sulawesi, marking its third location in Indonesia and further strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia.

In partnership with PT Grahatama Kreasibaru (GKB), a major Indonesian hospitality developer, Club Med will open the new resort in 2028. The agreement was signed in Bali, in the presence of key executives from both organisations, including Club Med Deputy CEO Gregory Lanter and GKB CEO Harris Gozali.

The new resort, Club Med Manado, will join Club Med’s existing Indonesian properties in Bali (established in 1984) and Bintan (since 1997), reflecting the brand’s long-standing investment in the archipelago. In addition to the new site, Club Med has also renewed the land agreement for its Bali resort and announced renovation plans for Bintan.

Indonesian Expansion

Located just 70 minutes from Sam Ratulangi International Airport, Club Med Manado promises direct views of the Molucca Sea and Mount Klabat from each of its 250 rooms. The site is designed to offer a premium all-inclusive experience with a focus on sustainable tourism, immersive cultural activities, and marine adventure.

The resort will feature Club Med’s hallmark offerings, including its Kids Club, the Amazing! Family programme, and an Exclusive Collection space — a private enclave designed for elevated service and luxury.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, Club Med aims for all new resorts to achieve BREEAM ‘Very Good’ certification or its equivalent. The Manado project is expected to create over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs and will support local communities through training, culinary exchange, and supply chain development.

Club Med Manado is part of a broader strategy to expand its East and Southeast Asia portfolio, tapping into high-growth destinations with rich cultural and ecological appeal. Further details about the resort will be released closer to its opening.
